Sports for Development

Our Programs

Five components that use sport as the language and life skills as the lesson.

Project GOLD's program is structured across 5 Components, each drawing on a different sport to teach life lessons in an engaging, memorable way. Sessions run over 8 weeks, led by national champion athletes who serve as living proof that goals are reachable.

Component 1

Aim High,
Setting Life Goals!

Using the sport of Netball to teach young people to assess their skillset, talents and interests — then aim high and work toward a meaningful goal.

Led by a National Netballer, this component begins the journey of self-discovery. Participants explore who they are, how they see themselves, and how they treat others — the foundation of every great athlete and great person.

Run Your
Own Race!

Track & Field techniques help participants understand that life is a constant race — and success means running your own race, in your own lane, at your own pace.

Participants explore the activities and subjects they're good at, identify their strengths and are encouraged to stay focused on their own path without being derailed by peer pressure or comparison.
